Crazy Daisy Wedding Photography

Crazy Daisy has it first bridal show booth at the Dreams Come True Bridal Expo in Richland Center. I kept the booth pretty simple, and my funny images got a lot of attention.. Which made me happy. I love to laugh and have fun on a wedding day.. its a joyful event. I love to combine romantic images with some fun images as I document the day. I alo got some beautiful additions to my booth from local businesses. Living in a small town has some beautiful perks.. nice people. Wonderful Small Business Owners. The beautiful frames you see were framed by Beth at Red Geranium Framing and Gifts. They have some beautiful choices, and I’m still trying to decide which ones to offer for framing from Crazy Daisy.

I met some wonderful Brides, Grooms, and a few lovely Mother Of Brides and chatted with local vendors, tasted WAYYY to much cake and cookies from the booth next to me!

Kims Floral and Gifts also gave me some beautiful flowers and greenery to use.. of course.. I admit, I was pretty vague with Kim- I am not a flower expert and I like “wildflowers and daisy’s” and Kim came up with some beautiful flowers, along with a single beautiful Gerbera Daisy I laid on the table. I loved the extra touches. Crazy Daisy Photography Mauston Wisconsin

What inspires you?

Argyle Family Portrait, Family Photographer, Fun Photography, Wisconsin PhotographerI have a couple of inspiration pieces I keep in my studio office that make me smile, remind me why I do what I do, inspire me to give 110% at every session or just plain inspire me with the memories… One of these is a signed Don Chick Egg (a wonderful Master Photographer I studied with… if you are looking for lighting lessons check out his website, he opened my eyes ), Sun Spot, Black and white photography, wisconsin pen cups designed by my children, my Dean’s list letter from college to remind me how hard I worked in school, a plastic army guy, thank you notes from clients and a few other misc items…and a few portraits of sessions that make me laugh, and one portrait that makes me cry.

Argyle Photography, Couple Portrait, As most of you know I loooooove newborn portraits. I love newborns. It’s a joy to get to spend a few hours with a itty bitty one, especially now since mine are all out of diapers and funny as it sounds, I miss those days.

argyle family photographyOne of my first newborn sessions was with a sweet baby named Mathias. I keep his portrait on my inspiration board. His portrait makes me cry because Mathias lost a battle with epilepsy 9 months after he was in my studio.. it also reminds me how one tiny baby can touch so many lives. He reminds me how much pictures mean to loved ones.

wisconsin photographer, wisconsin portrait photographerI felt honored to photograph sweet Mathias’s family this past weekend. His brothers are the most well-behaved boys ever. In fact, it kind of wants to make you bottle up their parents and sprinkle a bit of them on every parent you meet. This is coming from the mother of two busy boys! They both have sweet smiles, and brown eyes that remind me of my own Buddy. Annnddd they all endured being outside in JANUARY! Without coats! IN WISCONSIN!Wisconsin Children Photographer, Mauston Child photographer, Argyle Mauston Portrait Photographer, Wisconsin Portrait Photographer The sun was shining on this saturday morning and I was loving the sun spots! Of course, it is January and they put up with me for a long time in the cold! Their Mom was one of the great families who responded to my Facebook plea to photograph people in the snow. But. The Snow didn’t come. So we made our plans and ended up with a beautiful day with no snow, but lots of sunshine. I heard snow is coming… anyone want to play in the snow with me?

I love my job. I love the people I get to meet along the way. Wisconsin Couple Portraitwisconsin family portrait, wisconsin photographer, Wisconsin Child Portrait, Mauston Photographer, Lincoln-Tallman House, Little boy with tie, Child Portrait Photographer, Wisconsin Photographer

I photographed Tiffany and Justin’s wedding in 2010. One of our favorite images of them they are standing on a the top of a hill facing each other and kissing. Its such a sweet image. They look like traditional cake topper figures. To me, it perfectly represents these two lovebirds. Their wedding made me cry during the ceremony.. yes, I’m a sap. I usually wait to cry until the father daughter dance. Something about it Wisconsin Newborn photography, mauston newborn photographer, mazomanie newborn photographeralways makes me think of my wedding, my dad, and my daughter someday dancing with my husband at her wedding and it does me in.But Justin and Tiffany were so incredibly sweet at the alter,  they kept holding hands and he kept whispering things.

I love looking at that image when it comes up in our slideshows at bridal shows and thinking of their wedding. Just over a year later, I got to see Justin and Tiffany again, to photograph their sweet baby girl. Hazel. Is that not a beautiful name? I can’t believe I forgot to ask what inspired her name. She’s the first Hazel I’ve ever met, I absolutely loved her. Wisconsin Newborn Photographer, Mauston Newborn PhotographerSeeing Justin and Tiffany with their baby girl just made me fall in love with them all over again. They are so sweet with her.

Its always wonderful when parents have something they want their baby photographed with.. or on, or they bring a sweet homemade blanket or hat. Justin threw a curveball at me and wanted Hazel photographed with his Tuba.

Yep. I’m not joking. And it turns out Tuba’s reflects nice warm light. Not kidding. Forgot your reflector? Just grab a tuba!

Justin and Tiffany, It was a joy seeing you again and meeting Hazel! Have a Wonderful New Year with your new bundle of joy!

Guess what Hazel is laying in?

Hi. Welcome to my little world. I didn’t buy a fancy customized theme because frankly, I’m starting over and I want to learn HOW to blog and the in’s and outs before I decide what I want And.. well I just moved 2 hours away from a a fantastic photography business, Hanson Photography in Janesville. Splitting up our studio stuff.. I’m trying to keep what costs down that I can until I can build up the other part.. and I’m sad..  I can’t run in and play with Alex, Liz or Teresa in the studio anymore. I’ll still be able to drive down during the summer and photograph seniors, and I will also be photographing weddings for Hanson Photography.. but it wont be the same not being able to hang and walk over to Wiggy’s for lunch between shoots. Starting over scares the poo out of me.

In the meantime, lets pretend I know what I’m doing with this here blog. Just kidding. If something sucks.. say so. Comment. Tell me what you think. This is the part where I promise to do some exciting, cool stuff on the blog. Ummm.. thats not gonna happpen. I’m not cool enough. Have you met me? I’m a nerd with a camera. I love learning new stuff for photography (and will geek out on you if you want to talk about it)… but more about me in another post.

Lets get this party started with one of my own kiddos. My Middle Child.Buddy.

Hi- YAAA!

Urban Photography, Wisconsin Dells Photographer

I love little suits!

Buddy. I get asked from a lot of parents if that is his given name. Yes folks, I gave my son the same name as neighbors dog. Check out his birth certificate. Teeheee. His given name is Gerald Peter. Gerald after his Daddy and Grandpa. And Peter after his other late grandpa, my step father (My Dad). SmileHow did he become Buddy?Well.. we nicknamed him Chip because he made all these cute chipmunk noises when he was a baby. Adorable. If you ask his Grandma Sara, he is still Chippy at her home. BUTTTT his 2 yr old big sister heard Grandpa call him “little buddy” and started calling him Buddy. It stuck. I tried to fight it. I told everyone that’s what the dog  next door was called. No one cared.

And you know what? Now I can’t see him as anything BUT Buddy. He is my little Boo Bear, my mischievous one.. and my little sweetheart. Buddy.
